## F.D Signifier
([[August 10th, 2024]]) An extremely thorough (3.5 hour) history and recounting of the [[Kendrick and Drake Beef]] published to their YouTube channel. This is the first I've heard of them but I'm assuming it's another product of the YouTube algorithm identifying massive views (2.6 million at [[August 11th, 2024]]) with an extremely long video; similar to [[Jenny Nicholson]]'s [[Star Wars Hotel]] video.

## [[Emma Cruises]]
Our trend of watching an Emma Cruises video here and there continues. We're still enjoying her format and content. Standouts have been:
- Her video about a [21 port ferry trip in Norway](https://youtu.be/AEsf7QmIJTQ?si=qnGt_DP1BV4YtdKn) which could be interesting to try. It seemed interesting like our ferry trip from [[Flåm]] and [[Bergen]] in our [[Norway 2023]] trip.
## Suchomimus
[Suchomimus](https://www.youtube.com/@suchomimus9921) is a YouTube channel which shares videos from the [[Russian Invasion of Ukraine]] and has been posting videos about the recent counter offensive into Russia by Ukraine. It's been interesting to watch. Normally I wouldn't list their videos as high calorie content but the analysis lately has been good and the offensive has been interesting to watch.

## Misc. Dropout/Dimension 20
There's been some random [[Dimension 20]] and [[Dropout]] content that I've been watching as well.
- [the saga of mary ann skuttle](https://youtu.be/P4qCBn3cL20?si=tZ1AdTqDrG1HTeAc) is a Cobold kid NPC in [[Fantasy High]] that's pretty entertaining
## [[Make Some Noise]]
Watched [an episode of Make Some Noise](https://www.dropout.tv/videos/a-celebrity-s-unflattering-wax-figure-reveal) with [[Pete Holmes]]
## [[Smartypants]]
- [Michael Jordan, Family Sitcoms, God, Charcuterie](https://www.dropout.tv/videos/michael-jordan-family-sitcoms-god-charcuterie)
- A charcuterie presentation by [[Tao Yang]] which is probably one of the best so far
## Veep
We're starting a rewatch of [Veep](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1759761/) after the nomination of [[Kamala Harris]] as the Democratic presidential candidate.
## [[Captain Disillusion]]
Captain D came back up in my recommendations and I've been watching some of his older videos and talks, a collection:
- [The Unbearable Loneliness of Being Right on the Internet](https://youtu.be/GqfWm6z84t0?si=IHTm9vTeJD3c8hkt) is a talk that's given in a similar fashion to [[CGP Grey]]'s [7 ways to Maximize Misery](https://youtu.be/LO1mTELoj6o?si=uDYG312quKdbo5nd) where the true value of the talk is to do the opposite. Protect against the downside and the only option left is upside.
- [Chinese Invisibility Cloak Hoax](https://youtu.be/aO3JgPUJ6iQ?si=f23iBFrRhQUyNzIR) mimics other edutainment YouTuber's styles
- [Orangutan Card Trick DEBUNK](https://youtu.be/j6tbG6b6xRg?si=J1BC21j0-rp5NBaE) is a good analysis of a video
- [Cicret Bracelet DEBUNK](https://youtu.be/j6tbG6b6xRg?si=J1BC21j0-rp5NBaE) made the rounds again a few months ago with the [[Humane AI]] pin
- [David Beckham Beach Kicks DEBUNK](https://youtu.be/oVWsbpdDxTg?si=kVcxHMUzv8w3W9HP)
- [Captain D's Definitive Guide to TRICK SHOTS](https://youtu.be/ou7KSmfC3lA?si=d2hnCu2mBN3439RB)
- [The Great British Fake Off](https://youtu.be/2OEwbocwYF8?si=qEw9gJaZrc3IiBnh) describes how the producers of [[The Great British Bake Off]] have to edit the show to get around a Pillsbury trademark
## [[Adam Savage's Tested]]
There was a video from Adam that really stood out about how he really loves [[Jamie Hynaman]]. The crux of the point is that Adam really respected that he and Jamie were always immediately on the same page about saying no to having sponsored myths on [[Mythbusters]]. Jamie's integrity was a good part of what made Adam like him. They would argue about things but he knew that Jamie would always find a way to get things done and he respected his moral compass.

## Rocky Mountain PBS
PBS did a good video about how the true ground elevation of Colorado will be changed. The mountains (and Colorado being so high) actually have their own gravitational pull which would pull sea level _up_ beneath them, which means they're actually slightly lower compared to their "local sea level" than they would be compared to the sea level in Florida.

## Standup-up Maths
[[Matt Parker]] and [[Steve Mould]] do a video about how the [[Greenwich Meridian]] is actually in the wrong place because pointing your telescope directly up is actually quite tricky.

## wolfcrow
A video from a [[Video Essay (format)|video essayist]] about film and why Steven Spielberg avoids shooting with a wide open aperture. The main point is that a wide open aperture has a shallow depth of field, keeping the depth of field deeper means you can have more things in frame for the audience to look at. Rather than directing their attention with lots of cuts, have them follow the action by blocking and movement.

## JetPens
The JetPens content stream continues! There were a couple exceptionally interesting ones, one which gives a good look at their warehouse and order fulfillment flow.

- [Decent stationary recommendations](https://youtu.be/pLQGNXksQLs?si=qx8EDf7uj_YNkuAE)
## [[Jenny Nicholson]]
Revisiting a classic:

## The Situation Room (Stephanopoulos)
[The Situation Room: The Inside Story of Presidents in Crisis](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/198493808-the-situation-room?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=aP3jPaHh9m&rank=1) by George Stephanopoulos and Lisa Dickey is a decent book so far about different events an how [[The Situation Room]] worked.
## A System for Writing (Doto)
[A System for Writing](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/214971755-a-system-for-writing) is a book about the [[Zettelkasten]] method and is quite good so far.
## The 2024 Paris Olympics
Lots of Olympics content but nothing to link to because it's Peacock exclusive.
## QAA

## [[TiddlyWiki]]
I was reading [Grok TiddlyWiki](https://groktiddlywiki.com/read/) and they have an accompanying video:

## The Worlds Most Dangerous Roads
[The Worlds Most Dangerous Roads](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2078521/) is a show where British celebrities and comedians drive on dangerous roads and take trips. Pulled it onto plex to watch the Ed Gamble and Lou Sanders episode, looks like there's a few other good ones.
## Documentaries
- [[Curiosity Stream]] [documentary](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22874616/) about [[Pan American Airways]]. Would recommend.
