I saw a phrase "[being stuck up there is] probably type 2 fun" [on a thread](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41322334) about [[Boeing Starliner Marooning|astronauts being stuck on the ISS]] and did some light research, deserves more research though. It seems to have roots or application moreso in [[Outdoor Adventure]].
## Type 1 Fun
Type 1 fun is true fun. While it's happening you're having a good time.
## Type 2 Fun
Type 2 fun is not fun while it's happening but is fun in retrospect.
## Type 3 Fun
Type 3 fun is not fun while it's happening or in retrospect. This seems like it was *expected* to be fun but wasn't and didn't seem so after either.
