The rOtring 800 is a mechanical drafting pencil made of brass and features a retractable element. I purchased this [[June 26th, 2024]] as an #edc pencil while I was experimenting with new pens and pencils. I was attracted to it because of its retractable point. I used to always cary the [[Pentel Sharp Mechanical Pencil]] in junior high because we stocked them at work in the supply closet. However, I used to get poked in the leg about once per week by the metal lead guard. This has a similar feel but hasn't stabbed me in the leg yet. ![[IMG_4157.png]] As of [[July 12th, 2024]] I'm #edc the pencil in [[B (graphite hardness)]] pencil lead and enjoying it. I'm not sure what I'll do about the eraser though since it appears to be a non-standard size.
